One of the two participants goes by the name of Victor Niemeijer. Rowing a few strokes is by no means a punishment for this man. With the Maastricht student rowing club, Saurus, he has been rowing at a competitive level for a year and has been coaching a women's teams for two years. Nevertheless cycling is at the top of his list of spare time activities. Victor met Frans through the Maastricht road cycling and mountain biking club, Dutch Mountains. On the mountainbike his most favorite tracks lie in the southern part of Limburg, while on the other hand he loves road cycling in the Ardennes (but only if the weather is any good). Whenever the Amstel Gold Race comes by, Victor always tries to catch a glimpse of the riders and to shoot some pictures. Take a look at the cycling pictures to get an idea about cycling in the surroundings of Maastricht.

In 2005 Victor earned a master degree in human movement sciences, but don't be fooled; the only thing he really masters is sleeping, his second favorite spare time activity. However, he is more than interested in all sorts of exercise physiology, including the physiology of cycling. Currently he is enjoying his degree in medicine and has been an assistant in cardiology from January 2006. Because it's only till September 2006 that he will start in sports medicine in Veldhoven, from then on people in that region will have to think twice about getting ill.

Concerning the Chili Challenge, his main task was to build the website. Although he understands some words of Spanish, there's not much coming out of him in that language (nor in other languages). That's why the Spanish version is written by Frans. Victor also made it his business to check out equipment and to gaze and slobber at beautiful mountainbikes on the internet.
