"Since 1983, the María Ayuda foundation operates to promote the dignity of abandoned girls and boys as well as their families, selecting and educating them."
We got to learn about María Ayuda through the ambassy and by searching the internet. This way we found that they have been fighting for abused, abonded and mistreated girls. It's this group of children that the founder of the organization, Padre Hernan Allesandri, wants to help in the home situation, involving their families, providing education and shelter and so on. He thinks it's important to care for the mothers of the future and points out that a stable family is a valuable condition in achieving this. Over the years María Ayuda also focused on abused children in general, a project named Acógeme.
"To be a constituted leader in the fight against child abandonment, abuse, and violence with an emphasis on girls and their families."
The foundation is based on the following values and principles: family spirit, personal compromising and efficiency, trust in the providence of God, serviceability, respect and protection of the life of others and solidarity.
Take a look at the project to get an idea about the plan that María Ayuda has in store to spend the funds on (not yet available).
